I have followed Dale and Wyona’s Dana Arabians program since I can remember — and what makes their story so extra special is that it was built quite literally from the ground up. Breeding and owning Arabian horses since the late 1960’s, they didn’t inherit a program. They didn’t assemble it overnight. They built it — step by step, pedigree by pedigree, foal by foal — through vision, grit, instinct, and an unwavering belief in what they could create.
Baywatch V was unquestionably a game changer for their program. He marked a turning point — not just in accolades, but in identity. From that moment forward, the Worthington’s program was no longer simply participating in the conversation — they were shaping it. So, so many beautiful horses have come out of their Washington farm. Horses with presence. Horses with quality. Horses with that unmistakable balance of type and athleticism. And then there are the moments that make an entire showground pause.
And while not carrying any lines to “their” great Baywatch — their gorgeous filly Dana Sabrinaa had the whole Scottsdale show grounds talking. Heads turned. Conversations stopped mid-sentence. People leaned a little closer to the rail. You could see those who stopped and who took notice — pulling out their phones to record video. And what makes it even more special is the poetry of it all — not but a few years earlier, her mother, Dana Sicily, had everyone on their toes in that very same way. Lightning, striking twice. Not by accident — but by design.
That is the mark of true breeders.
Aside from their outstanding horses, perhaps the most beautiful tale of it all is that Dale & Wyona have done it — together. They are every essence of the word “breeder.” Thoughtful. Intentional. Patient. They have, without question, developed their “look” — that signature style that speaks before a pedigree is ever announced. You can spot a Dana Arabians–bred horse from the other side of the show ring.
And that doesn’t happen by chance. It happens through partnership. Through shared standards. Through years of standing side by side, believing in a vision and protecting it.
Dana Arabians isn’t just a breeding program — it’s a legacy built in real time, by two people who truly embody what it means to dedicate a life to the Arabian horse.
