Remembering Jacline Jamal JCA

Remembering Jacline Jamal JCA ~ 2000-2026

There are horses that pass through our lives, and then there are those rare few who quietly become part of our family.

For Manny and Lori Lawrence, that horse was Jacline Jamal JCA—”Jackie.”

For twenty-six years, Jackie was a constant presence at Jade Creek Arabians. She wasn’t simply a show mare or an exceptional broodmare. She was family. Through every chapter of the farm’s journey—from the rolling hills of Santa Ynez, California, to Sisters, Oregon, then to Scottsdale, Arizona, and finally to the peaceful pastures of North Carolina—Jackie made every move alongside the people who loved her most.

Foaled in 2000, Jackie represented an exciting new chapter from the very beginning.

Manny was among the earliest breeders to recognize the extraordinary potential of Jullyen El Jamaal following his importation to the United States. Bred by the incomparable Lenita Perroy, Jullyen El Jamaal arrived from Brazil under the care and management of Greg and Nancy Gallun at Gallun Farms in Santa Ynez. Few could have imagined the profound impact he would have on the Arabian breed. After his early years in California, Jullyen El Jamaal would go on to write yet another remarkable chapter in his storied career, becoming the chief sire at the legendary Varian Arabians. Jackie was among his earliest daughters to capture the attention of the Arabian horse community, representing the promise of a stallion whose influence would ultimately be felt around the world.

As a yearling, she made history.

At the 2001 Cal-Bred Futurities, Jacline Jamal JCA was crowned Champion Yearling Filly, while her brother, Jake Jamaal JCA, also by Jullyen El Jamaal, captured Champion Yearling Colt honors. Watching a brother and sister sweep both futurities on the same day—both bred by Manny Lawrence—was an unforgettable moment. It marked a milestone for Jade Creek Arabians and announced the arrival of a breeding program whose influence would continue to grow for years to come.

Perhaps, though, Jackie’s story really began before she ever took her first breath.

Years earlier, during the prestigious Santa Barbara Show, the show grounds were buzzing about a stunning black daughter of Bey Shah named Hushahby Bey. Fresh off her victory, she had become the horse everyone was talking about. Curious, Manny wandered over to see what all the excitement was about. Hushahby Bey quietly peeked her head over her stall door, and in that simple moment, she found her way into Manny’s heart.

Anyone who knows Manny knows that when a horse truly speaks to him, he rarely leaves without it.

This time was no different.

Bringing Hushahby Bey home would forever change the course of Jade Creek Arabians. She filled the ranch with love, light, and promise, and in time gave Manny and Lori two extraordinary gifts—first Jacline Jamal JCA in 2000, and then Brandon Bey JCA, by Versace, in 2001. Looking back today, it’s hard to imagine Jade Creek Arabians without her.

If Hushahby Bey was the mare who changed the course of Jade Creek Arabians, Jackie became the mare who carried that dream forward.

Over the next twenty-six years, she gave the Jade Creek family eight beautiful foals, carrying and raising every one herself. She passed along not only her beauty and athleticism, but also the quiet generosity of spirit that made her so special.

Among her many accomplishments as a producer was Josephine JCA, by El Millenio, a Regional and Scottsdale Champion Hunter Pleasure horse before earning U.S. National Top Ten honors in the Hunter Pleasure Futurity. Wish Maker JCA, by Ever After NA, found success in both halter and Western Pleasure. Jackie was also bred to other influential sires including Magnum Psyche, Ecaho, ZT Marwteyn, and the Prince of Jade Creek, the late Pagani JCA, by FA El Rasheem. Today, Alessandra JCA, by EKS Alihandro and owned by Elizabeth Scello, continues to carry Jackie’s influence into the show ring, recently earning a championship at the Region 13 Championships and blossoming into an exceptional Western horse.

Yet if you asked Manny and Lori what made Jackie unforgettable, they probably wouldn’t begin with championships or ribbons.

They would remember the quiet mornings.

The familiar nicker from across the pasture.

The foals she lovingly raised.

The comfort of knowing she was always there.

For more than two decades, Jackie wasn’t simply part of Jade Creek Arabians. She was one of the horses that helped define its heart.

Some horses are remembered for the championships they win. Others are remembered for the love they leave behind.

Jackie was both.

Thank you, beautiful girl, for twenty-six wonderful years. Thank you for every foal, every mile traveled, every memory made, and every quiet moment that helped make Jade Creek Arabians what it is today.

Run free, sweet Jackie. Your story will forever be written in the hearts of Manny and Lori, in the horses that carry your blood, and in the place you will always call home—Jade Creek Arabians.
